The Challenge

How can we develop a common language and core principles that connect different cultures, attitudes, and countries?

The Context of the Challenge

Open House Europe initiates and facilitates a culture of opening up the foundations of local architecture through highly personal initiatives. This process requires both macro and micro perspectives. A unified visual language, along with its core principles and new mediums, would create a stronger foundation for this process, providing greater clarity for all stakeholders.

The insight

To sense what is important and what opens up. That’s why the visual representation of Open House Europe is the letters “O” and their interconnectedness, which acts as a symbol embodying togetherness and invitation. It is a clean form that creates a relationship and encourages deeper experiences. This interconnectedness can also be split, emphasising a particular project, object or country.

The change to the context

Unified Language: Stakeholders recognized the value and potential of the project, leading to a more cohesive approach in communication.

Increased Recognition: Various initiatives were distinctly connected to each other and to the project itself.

Motivation: The new visual language fostered a sense of pride and increased motivation to pursue further initiatives.
